       Q & A   BridgeBoneBeads

Q ) As a purest, BridgeBoneBeads?

A ) Most guitarists who adhere to the traditional ways have many guitars. There are prominent guitarists who purchased BridgeBoneBeads for one of their lesser instruments, then ordered additional sets for other guitars they own. When you change strings all the time, the BBB system helps with the whole string change procedure. The bonus is sound improvement on many guitars.

Q ) What do you mean by “Tying the strings away from the guitar”?

A ) With the BridgeBoneBeads system, you actually tie the string in your hands before you insert it backwards into the tie block. Once the string is attached and tightened to remove the slack, simply reposition the bead how you want it, and tune to pitch.

Q ) Why did you choose bone material for BridgeBoneBeads?

A ) We chose bone based on sound. Glass, wood and ceramics were tested for not only sound characteristics, but for ease of manufacturing and durability. Bone is incredibly strong but difficult to work with. After significant refinement, we developed a number of shaping and drilling procedures that are unique and different. When you think about it, most quality guitars use bone for nut and bridge material, so it makes sense to match that material.

Q ) What if I tie BridgeBoneBeads different from your instruction?

A ) We recommend that you follow the tie procedure that is provided with the kit. During development, BridgeBoneBeads were intentionally tied wrong to test for string release. There is no whipping action when the string releases that you would experience with a traditional tie.

Q ) Is tying BridgeBoneBeads easy?

A ) With a little practice and experience, it becomes quite natural to use the 3 hole design.

Q ) You mention that users of high tension strings should try regular tension strings with BridgeBoneBeads ?

A ) With an increased break angle at the bridge, the guitar may have a better response. This simple change can deliver sound improvement. Perhaps this improvement will allow the change back to regular tension strings.

This is important for those who are concerned about practicing fatigue, ease of performance, or the fact that the guitar builder constructed the instrument with regular tension strings in mind.
